The problem would be on how the genders are treated. It is stereotypically thought that the men do all the hard work and bring the money to the table, while the women stay at home cooking, cleaning and taking care of the children which are your usual typical housewife. While this stereotype doesn t exist today, it was very common for it to be known in the 1900s. After this conversation with her husband, she goes back to her masculine role of transplanting the flowers.
